We decided not to visit Regina, Saskatchewan, because we knew we had a long drive ahead the next day. Instead, we chose to relax at the hotel. Yesterday, we drove for about eight hours to Red Deer. Upon arriving at Paul and Judy’s place, we received the warmest welcome. We chatted with them and even met one of their friends, Mick, who is staying with them for a short while.
After a delicious supper, Judy showed us to our bedroom, which was incredibly comfortable. Martin and I each had our own bathrooms.
Following a good night’s rest, we took refreshing showers and enjoyed a hearty breakfast with our hosts. Judy had some work to finish, and once she returned, we got ready to head out towards Banff.
This was undoubtedly a highlight of our trip so far. The Rockies are beyond imagination until you see them in person. Lake Louise was absolutely breathtaking. We had a fantastic meal at the Fairmont before continuing to Canmore, a charming little town with lovely shops and restaurants. We stopped for dessert and coffee, where we were met with friendly smiles everywhere.
The majestic mountains remain part of the backdrop here—it’s simply stunning. Paul and Judy have more places they want to show us, and having such wonderful hosts guiding us makes the experience even better. We’re excited to see what tomorrow will bring, but today was truly unforgettable!
Nous avons décidé de ne pas visiter Regina, en Saskatchewan, car nous savions que nous aurions une longue route le lendemain. Nous avons donc choisi de nous détendre à l’hôtel. Hier, nous avons conduit environ huit heures jusqu’à Red Deer. En arrivant chez Paul et Judy, nous avons reçu le plus chaleureux des accueils. Nous avons discuté avec eux et rencontré l’un de leurs amis, Mick, qui séjourne chez eux pour un moment.
Après un délicieux souper, Judy nous a montré notre chambre, qui était incroyablement confortable. Martin et moi avions chacun notre propre salle de bain. Après une bonne nuit de sommeil, nous avons pris une douche rafraîchissante et dégusté un excellent petit-déjeuner avec nos hôtes. Judy avait un peu de travail à terminer, et une fois de retour, nous nous sommes préparés pour partir en direction de Banff.
C’était sans aucun doute l’un des moments forts de notre voyage jusqu’à présent. Les Rocheuses sont au-delà de toute imagination jusqu’à ce que vous les voyiez en personne. Le lac Louise était absolument époustouflant. Nous avons savouré un excellent repas au Fairmont avant de continuer vers Canmore, une charmante petite ville avec de jolies boutiques et restaurants. Nous nous sommes arrêtés pour un dessert et un café, où nous avons été accueillis avec des sourires chaleureux.
Les montagnes restent une toile de fond majestueuse ici — c’est tout simplement magnifique. Paul et Judy ont encore d’autres endroits qu’ils souhaitent nous faire découvrir, et avoir de si merveilleux hôtes pour nous guider rend l’expérience encore meilleure. Nous sommes impatients de voir ce que demain nous réserve, mais aujourd’hui était vraiment inoubliable !
